All Change

Yesterday I did something I’ve been quietly contemplating for a long time: I retired my earlier books from publication.
They were the stories that taught me how to write, how to finish, how to be brave enough to share my work with the world. I shall be forever grateful for the lessons I learned from them, but as I’ve grown, so has the shape of the stories I want to tell.
And so, with a mixture of nostalgia and clarity, I’ve closed that phase of my writing life.
From here, I’m stepping fully into a new creative era — one shaped by Wishlake Books, my new publication imprint, and by the families whose lives have taken root in my imagination: the Aucourtes, the Carver‑Phelans, and the Deverells.
Together, we’ll be travelling through the late Victorian years and into the early decades of the 20th century — a time of upheaval, beauty, heartbreak, reinvention, and quiet courage. These are the stories I feel called to write now: authentically historical, layered, emotional, and deeply human.
Retiring my earlier work isn’t an ending. It’s a clearing of the path. And part of that clearing involves work on the website. You will see it is looking remarkably sparse today, echoingly empty, rather like a room cleared of furniture and awaiting renovation.
It's all part of making space for what comes next.
Thank you for walking with me — some of you since the very beginning. I’m excited to share this new journey with you, and I can’t wait for you to meet the families who have already taken up residence in my heart.
Here’s to new beginnings, old eras, and the stories waiting to be told.
